Valle Monte League, Inc., an ALL-VOLUNTEER non-profit organization of 180 women in the Santa Clara Valley, was established in 1950 specifically to raise funds for a selected licensed mental health agency. Today, Valle Monte League supports four individual mental health organizations and continues to operate without an office and with no paid administrator. Therefore,  ALL net proceeds from our fundraiser, Christmas Tree Elegance (CTE), are distributed to these mental health agencies:

Family & Children Services focuses on promoting healthy development of children and their families. Services are offered in eight languages, including American Sign Language for the hearing impaired --- the only service for the deaf in the greater South Bay. The center is open to everyone. More than 60% of all cases deal with child abuse. The Child Abuse Prevention & Treatment Program provides crisis intervention. Each year, 12,000 people are served. Supported since 1954.

The Centre for Living with Dying offers emotional support and volunteer counseling to anyone requesting the services. Clients are those facing life-threatening illnesses and those deeply affected by the approaching or actual death of a loved one. The League supports the grief program for children and adolescents. Annually, 19,000 individuals were served. Supported since 1972.

Alzheimer's Activity Center is an adult day care center for individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Over four million people are affected by Alzheimer's disease. The center provides a therapeutic activity program and socialization in a protective, caring and cheerful environment for nearly 1,500 patients annually. The center provides the family with much needed respite from the patient who requires 24-hour care. Supported since 1986.

Services for Brain Injury is the only non-profit provider in Northern California exclusive to brain injury below cost continuum of medically related services to meet individual client and family needs. They assist discharged patients and their families to successfully reintegrate socially and professionally. Supported since 2009.

The focus of Christmas Tree Elegance, now in its 50th year, is the beautifully decorated Christmas Trees designed by professionals. The gifts that accompany each of the 14-18 trees are secured by League members from businesses and individuals in the community. Members also obtain cash donations for event underwriters, tree sponsors and for other available underwriting opportunities. The beauty translates into excitement at the thought of winning a tree along with all of its gifts. All trees are given away, via raffle tickets; one at each event and the remaining trees at the Evening Event on Friday night.

Consistently, year after year, more than 2,500 guests attend the special events of Christmas Tree Elegance held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Jose. ALL of this year's events feature a Silent Auction and a Fashion Show produced by Red Haute and Co. in collaboration with merchants at Santana Row.

Over the years, Valle Monte League has raised more than $9.0 million toward fulfilling our mission to help provide and promote better mental health within the community through mental health agencies.
