About Services for Brain Injury

Services for Brain Injury’s origins in 1989 are with Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where health-care providers recognized the need for community-based services to help discharged patients and their families successfully reintegrate into their home and professional lives following brain injury. There is no other non-profit provider in Northern California exclusive to brain injury below cost continuum of medically related services to meet individual client and family needs. Clients appreciate Services for Brain Injury because it’s a place where they can work toward their full potential in a safe and stimulating environment with other people facing similar life experiences and challenges. Services for Brain Injury offers therapies and much more: day program; independent living skills; orientation and mobility; and vocational services including evaluation, training, placement, job trials, coaching and retention. Services for Brain Injury’s ongoing programs and services help its clients take giant steps toward getting back into the world.

Partners since 2009

Valle Monte League has supported Services for Brain Injury since 2009. The funds are used to provide mental health counseling to benefit individuals, couples and families, including veterans. The counseling is provided by a Community Integration Mental Health Counseling program that helps people in their lives and in their community, personally, and professionally. They also provide neuropsychological intake assessments and evaluations with a neuropsychologist. Services for Brain Injury is the only non-profit provider in Northern California exclusive to brain injury below cost continuum of medically related services to meet individual client and family needs. They assist discharged patients and their families to successfully reintegrate socially and professionally.
