One of our supported charities, Hearts & Minds Activity Center in San Jose, was recently featured in San José Spotlight for its innovative and compassionate approach to dementia care.
The center provides specialized day programs for older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while also offering critical support and respite for family caregivers. Their unique intergenerational model brings together older adults and preschool children, creating a joyful and engaging environment for both.
Through structured activities such as music, art, and social connection, Hearts & Minds enhances quality of life for participants while helping families navigate the challenges of caregiving.
As the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s continues to grow, programs like this are more important than ever—offering dignity, connection, and support to those who need it most.
